Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and SKENE ("we", "us") for the Gate Run game (the "game"). By downloading or playing the game, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the game. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

1. Your license to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the game on devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, within the rules of the store you got it from. The game is licensed to you, not sold.

2. Virtual currencies, items and progress

In-game currencies such as gold, mana stones and crystals, and equipment and other items, whether earned or received with a purchase, give you a limited license to use them in the game. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, and cannot be sold or transferred. We may change how currencies and items work as we balance the game.

Your progress is saved on your device and, when you are signed in with Game Center or Google Play Games Services, on our save server. If you delete the game or lose your device while not signed in, your progress may be lost.

3. Ads

The game is free and paid for by ads. It shows rewarded and interstitial ads. Rewarded ads play only when you choose them, and you get the reward shown once the ad has played. If no ad can load, no reward is given. Advertisers and ad networks decide what ads say, and we do not vouch for them.

4. Purchases and refunds

You can buy items such as crystals, packs, passes and ad removal if you want. The price, what you get and, for time-limited items, how long they last are shown before you buy. The store you bought from sells and processes the purchase under its own terms, and refunds follow its policy. In Korea, you may cancel a purchase within 7 days under Article 17 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce; ask the store or email us at support@skene.ws. Cancellation may be limited where the law allows it, for example if you have already used currencies or items that came with the purchase. If a purchase is refunded or canceled, we may remove what it gave. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer protection law.

5. Rules of play

Please don't copy, modify or reverse engineer the game except where the law allows it, cheat or use tools to change the game, your save data or ad rewards, access our servers in abnormal ways, click or watch ads fraudulently or automatically, or use the game for anything illegal. If we find this, we may roll back or delete the save involved. If you find a bug, please tell us at support@skene.ws.

6. Ownership

The game, including its art, characters, story, music, sounds, text and code, belongs to SKENE or its licensors. Open-source software and fonts in the game are used under their own licenses.

7. Changes to the game

We keep changing the game. We may add, change or remove content, features, offers, prices and how often ads appear, and update or stop offering the game. We will try to give notice of big changes.

8. No warranty

The game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the game or our save server will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress or currencies. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

10. App stores

These terms are between you and us, not the store you got the game from. Apple and Google are not responsible for the game or its content, have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and are not responsible for claims about it, such as product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims; we handle those. If the game fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify the store, which may refund the purchase price. You must follow any third-party terms that apply, such as your wireless data agreement. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. Government list of restricted parties.

11. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by deleting the game. To have your server save deleted, follow the steps in the Privacy Policy. If you seriously break these terms, your license to use the game ends.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the court with jurisdiction under Korea's Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and give notice in the game or on this page at least 7 days before the changes take effect, or 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable to you. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
